WE ARE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS! ORLEN TEAM AO BY TF SECURES ELMS 2024 CHAMPIONSHIP IN PORTIMÃO

ORLEN Team AO by TF leaves Portimão with the sweet taste of champagne bathing this Season Finale at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. The team had to celebrate in the best possible way the 2024 European Le Mans Series title clinched with the #14 Orlen AO by TF in the LMP2 category and the great teamwork done in LMGT3 with the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Grid Motorsport by TF. The #14 car, driven by Jonny Edgar, Louis Deletraz and Robert Kubica, executed an impeccable race strategy to triumph in the final round, consolidating their lead and delivering a stellar performance that secured P2 in the race and crowned them champions.

The #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Grid Motorsport by TF, driven by Jonny Adam, Lorcan Hanafin and Martin Berry, finished the last race of its challenging but exciting season in P8. After a rocky start of the season the team steadily improved with each round. Although the results did not immediately reflect their progress, the turning point came at Spa and the momentum continued at Mugello with a well-deserved podium finish that brought the #97 back into the championship fight. Given their journey, finishing 14 points behind the leaders is something to be happy about. Both Berry and Hanafin showcased remarkable progress throughout the whole season, and finishing on a high note was the best way to say farewell to Jonny Adam and thank him for the support he gave the team.

For the LMP2 #14 Orlen AO by TF, the season was marked by significant pressure, as expectations were high with Jonny Edgar, Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz. In fact, the Pole and the Swiss driver are both Endurance World Championship and ELMS champions. After a disappointing start in Barcelona, the team bounced back with podiums at Paul Ricard, a win at Spa, and a solid performance at Imola. Despite a stroke of bad luck at Mugello, they managed to score crucial points that set them up for a tense final race at Portimão. The strategy team worked tirelessly to fine-tune the car after qualifying, and the drivers brilliantly executed the plan. With a roster of talent like Kubica, Deletraz, and Edgar, their driving was never in question – and they delivered exactly when it mattered most.

As the ELMS season comes to an end, the entire team deserves great recognition for their hard work and unrelenting dedication. From the engineers to the mechanics, the management and the drivers, every member played a crucial role in this championship victory. The 2024 season will be remembered for its highs and lows, but ultimately for the amazing teamwork which also secured the #14 a historic title.

Tom Ferrier, TF Sport Team Principal:
“We knew this season would push us to the limit, and it certainly did. With the #14 LMP2, we had to fight hard at every race, from tough beginnings in Barcelona to bouncing back with a win at Spa and crucial podiums at Ricard and Imola. The pressure was immense going into Portimão, but Jonny, Louis, and Robert delivered when it mattered most. On the GT3 side, the #97 team also had its share of challenges but showed great progress throughout the season. Bidding farewell to Jonny [Adam] in this way, after so many years of working together, is also a nice recognition of his work and dedication. This 2024 ELMS season has been a tough journey and we are thrilled to have won the championship, but there is a definite sense of relief after such a demanding year”.
