POLE POSITION AND FASTEST LAP FOR TF SPORT AT ELMS 4H OF PORTIMAO FINALE

TF Sport ended their European Le Mans Series year with another pole position in the LMGTE class and the fastest lap of the race, courtesy of Ross Gunn. The Racing Team Turkey outfit had a heartbreaking end to their season, as an incident in the second free practice session caused extensive damage to the #34 LMP2 . Despite chalking two DNFs at the end of the season, the #34 Racing Team Turkey LMP2 finished fourth in the Pro Am championship standings. The #95 entry scored their equal-best result of the year, but also bagged their second pole position thanks to pro driver Gunn. It has been a great year of improvement for bronze-graded John Hartshorne and alongside Gunn and Ollie Hancock, the GTE crew scored points at every ELMS round of 2021. The crew now turn their attention straight to Bahrain, for the season-ending double-header of the FIA World Endurance Championship at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Tom Ferrier, Team Owner - "I want to start by saying thank you to everybody who had been involved in our return to the European Le Mans Series. It has been challenging and rewarding in equal measures. To score an overall pole and podium, and class podiums including a win is more than I could have hoped for. John also showed great improvement this year and I'm really pleased where we got him to by the end of the season."
Salih Yoluc, Bronze Driver - "After starting the season so strongly, it was heartbreaking having to withdraw from the last race. We've had some bad luck, but all we can do is get up and turn things around. We didn't want to end the season like this as a team, but we will rise and won't stop until we reach our goals. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Racing Team Turkey's first season."
Ross Gunn, Gold Driver - "This weekend at Portimão was probably our strongest weekend of the season, which is positive when looking ahead to next year. I have to say the biggest impression that I had this weekend was John's improvement! It's been the biggest step forward that he's made all season. He had a great test here in the summer, but he really brought his A-game to Portugal and was able to put Ollie and I in the mix to fight for some good points - the most points we've scored all year(?!), huge credit to him. Massive thanks to the TF Sport team, the car was phenomenal all weekend. We had a great qualifying and race car that we were able to get some strong points with. The year has been tricky at times, we've had some bad luck, but it's been great fun. As always, it's a pleasure to drive the Aston Martin GTE all over Europe and for me the highlight was Le Mans, so a huge thank you to John and TF for allowing me to compete in the iconic race. Let's see what the future holds!"
