DOMINANT LIGHTS-TO-FLAG VICTORY, FOR OMAN RACING’S BRITISH GT RETURN
Ahmad Al Harthy and Charlie Eastwood claimed a stellar win in the #97 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 at the British GT Championship’s Snetterton 300, for Oman Racing by TF Sport’s return to the series.
The SRO Championship-winning duo joined together once again to take on the British GT’s double-header and narrowly missed out on a second trip to the podium, a P4 finish, only due to the success penalty from race one’s result.
Oman Racing by TF Sport’s Snetterton success was largely down to the phenomenal lap that Al Harthy posted during his qualifying run, which placed #97 on pole position by 0.841s over Paddock Motorsport’s Bentley.
Al Harthy and Eastwood will rejoin again later in the year for other guest races, to be announced soon.
Tom Ferrier, Team Owner - “It’s the perfect, but unsurprising, result for Oman Racing. We know how good both Ahmad and Charlie are at the wheel of the GT3, after winning the, then, Blancpain Endurance Pro Am Championship together.”
Ahmad Al Harthy, Bronze driver - “What a dream start to my season with our new partners, new sponsors, and everyone at Oman Racing. I’m so happy and proud to represent Oman and our partners, and delighted to be back and winning in our first race back in British GT.”
Charlie Eastwood, Gold driver - “Really good weekend back in British GT with Oman Racing. Great from start to finish, especially as Ahmad had been out of the car for a long time, but he showed amazing pace from the off. This resulted in getting my first win in British GT, in the first race, as Ahmad created a great gap and I just had to maintain it until the end. Race two was another good result but it was alway going to be difficult with the success penalty.”
