Oman Racing with TF Sport were rewarded with a Pro Am class podium finish last weekend, after a hard-fought battle at the GT World Challenge Europe finale, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The crew ran as high as P2 in the Pro Am class during the free practice session and the trio of drivers set an average time to secure eighth for the championship finale.

Starting the race in P8, at a track not well-suited to the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, the crew knew it was going to be a tough challenge to make their way through the grid.

Both Bronze drivers had a strong start to the race, as a stellar opening stint by Ahmad Al Harthy, who ran as high as P3, and strong laps by Giacomo Petrobelli, who often set the fastest time in class during his stint, set Eastwood up well to finish the three-hour battle.

Charlie took the wheel in P5 and with a little help from a brief safety car period, the Aston Martin factory driver managed to catch up to the Pro Am competitors ahead and charged up to a podium running position with less than 20-minutes left on the clock.

The closing stages of the race were somewhat nail-biting, with a further safety car called, but Eastwood held station to cross the line in third place.

Tom Ferrier, Team Owner - “It was great to return to the GT World Challenge podium, especially with the competition that we were up against! The crew and drivers maximised their potential and ran faultlessly to take us to a trophy-winning position.”

Ahmad Al Harthy, Bronze Driver - “There is no honour comparable to the honour of the flag on the podium, and there is no greater joy than representing the country in international forums, thank you to all the sponsors and supporters, thank you to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth!”
