Abu Dhabi
At a cost of over a billion dollars, Yas Marina Circuit is constructed on the man-made Yas Island near to Abu Dhabi and first hosted a Grand Prix in 2009. It has been the home of the Gulf 12 Hours since 2011 in a race that is unusual in that it features two stints of six hours with a break in the middle.
The circuit itself features two very long straights between turns seven and 11 separated by a chicane which is designed to aid passing in race conditions. No stone has been left unturned in creating a state-of-the-art racing facility from the air-conditioned pit garages to the fully-covered grandstands.
